Over the years the actual cause of bad acne has been up for debate. Some researchers will say that it is eating greasy foods. Other researchers say it is from our faces being unclean. The one thing that is certain is how many people acne affects each day. While scientist debate what the cause actually is the rest of us suffer.
This much is known: Acne is formed when the pores become clogged. The pores become clogged because of the excess dead skin cells mixing with the excess oil. Other debris on the face such as dirt can also contribute. When the pores become clogged they form a plug or a blackhead. This plug then becomes a pimple. The two ingredients for acne in most cases are oil and debris.
Our pores naturally produce oil. The oil helps to protect our skin and keep it moisturized. It also protects our hair from breaking and adds shine. Oil becomes a problem when it is overproduced. The excess oil acts like a glue when other debris comes in contact with it.
Our skin is constantly turning over new skin cells. This helps to keep the skin looking and feeling healthy and radiant. This also helps to heal cuts and open wounds. Dead skin cells become a problem when they are not cleaned off properly. Using a product with salicylic acid in it can help to slough off dead skin cells. Since our bodies produce new skin every day it is best to use the product every day as well.
Over production of oil and dead skin cells are the two main culprits of most people’s acne. We must take steps to ensure that we are properly cleaning our skin.
Using a product that has benzoyl peroxide in it will help to clear out the clogged pores. This chemical is acidic and can eat away at the plug that has clogged the pore. It can also kill bacteria that live in those clogged pores.
Salicylic acid, as mentioned earlier, can help slough off dead skin cells. It can also clean the skin of any excess debris. Debris such as dirt can also mix with the oil and clog the pores.
Understanding what causes the majority of our breakouts can help us take the offensive. Regular cleaning can ensure that our breakouts are minimal if not eliminated. If you suffer from severe acne then you may need a laser treatment for acne. Consult your dermatologist for their recommendation in that case.

If you decide to buy an Omega J8003 juicer then you are obviously serious about good health. With one of these masticating juicers you can make your own fruit and vegetable drinks at home. In fact, you can also use this device to make wheat grass juice. This is a “super food” so is often very popular with people who make their own juices.
The more fruit and vegetables we consume the better condition we can get ourselves into. Fruit and vegetables help with so many different things such as alkalizing our bodies, helping us have regular bowel movements, keeping our skin looking good as well as warding off colds and helping us to maintain a cheery disposition. So when you buy your own juicing appliance you are likely to start consuming much more fruit and vegetables. One thing to bear in mind is that when you juice, you are separating the fiber from the nutrients. Of course, the nutrients give us loads of benefits but getting enough fiber in our diet is important too. So only juicing and not eating any fruit and vegetables should be avoided.
With an Omega J8003 machine you can actually do much more than just juice fruits, vegetables and wheat grass. This appliance can also be used to prepare baby foods, grind coffee beans and extrude pasta. It comes with a range of different attachments to make this all possible. So if you decide to purchase an Omega J8003 juicer you get good value for money. This is not to say that it is cheap. Unfortunately it is not. But it is a versatile kitchen appliance that can be used for plenty of different things.
If you have never used a juicer before, it would be a good idea to check out some other juicer reviews for the various types of appliances including centrifugal and twin gear juicers.

If you already are in your forties or even older and are not doing any exercise, you need to understand that you are at a high risk of acquiring a host of illnesses and diseases which could haunt you for the rest of your earthly life like diabetes, cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure to name a few. Fortunately, employing a simple workout routine as well as a nutritional and well rounded dietary program can help you prevent or even put a stop to a number of these health related issues. In fact, even mere walking and other of your daily chores such as gardening, raking the yard etc. can already save your life!
Reaching the age of forty or beyond, you tend to get more concerned with regards to your well being. You find yourself not driving your car as fast as before; you begin to worry much about your health insurance; you avoid getting into fights; you become concerned about your expanding belly and so on. At forty and having no history of doing any forms of exercises or physical activity, you will find yourself displaying fast signs of aging. You will need to follow a well rounded exercise and dietary program, so you could continue to look good, lower your risk of getting afflicted by grave ailments and diseases and more importantly, place you back in the right tracks of a normal lifespan. Here are a few tips on how you stay fit over 40.
When starting out with your workout program, try to avoid exercising in an environment that is either too hot or too cold. At your given age, your body’s innate ability to control or regulate temperature decreases; thus heightening your chances of having low body core temperature or heat exhaustion. With continuous exercises however, you would be able to restore this innate ability of your body to normalize temperature. In addition, you need to avoid getting dehydrated, so make it a point that you drink plenty of water before you workout, during the workout session and after it. Remember, your fitness program must consist of both cardio and weight training as these two forms of training would provide you with optimum benefits.
Now apart from exercise, bodybuilding after 40 would also require you to follow a well rounded, nutritious diet. Many nutritionists and fitness professionals would recommend that you lessen your daily consumption of calories by thirty percent, but having less than that is even better. Rid your fridge and cupboards of junk foods and any food stuffs which are high in sugar, salt, fat and caffeine and replace them with plenty of fruits and veggies.

About 20% of Americans are bothered with bad breath. This is a surprising number knowing that there is so much effort put into good oral hygiene. Imagine that here in the United States; billions of dollars are spend every year on gum, mints, mouth washes, tooth pastes and more.
What causes bad breath?
As we learn from the many Dental Professionals at the Daly City Dentist offices, bad breath is caused from several different factors. Let’s take a look at each of the reasons bad breath can happen. Also, let’s see what options you have to get help.
Improper Oral Hygiene
One reason for bad breath is improper oral hygiene. There are certain ways of caring for your teeth, gums and tongue that the Daly City Dental professionals recommend. Here are those suggestions to follow.
- Brush and floss your teeth and along the gum line twice per day.
- Use an antiseptic mouthwash after brushing at least once per day.
- Visit the dentist office at least twice per year.
Gum Disease
Another reason for bad breath is gum disease. Symptoms are swollen, reseeding, gums that are sensitive to the touch. They tend to sit high up on the tooth, exposing sensitive areas of your teeth.
To help to resolve this issue, it can be as simple as a good deep cleaning. However, there are some more progressed stages of gum disease that need surgery. So if you feel that you have issues with this, it is important to see a dental professional. If you need help finding one that is in your area Google is a great place to start. However, it is important to look into suggestions from your friends also.
Health and Diet
Finally you will want to make sure that you are healthy and are eating a proper diet. Both of these can affect your breath. Also smoking, drinking, excessive sweets etc. can be factors involved.

What is a hemorrhoid?
Off all the colorectal diseases and disorders, hemorrhoids are the most common, millions of people have them. Quite simply, a hemorrhoid occurs when an anal vein gets a small bulge in it, this happens when too much pressure is put on the vein. This can happen to veins located either in the anal canal or at the anal opening. Once the hemorrhoids become symptomatic, they are then considered a disease. For most people they’re not necessarily a serious disease, but that is the medical classification.
What are the most common hemorrhoid symptoms?
- Bleeding
- Pain
- Swelling at the anal opening
- A small bump may be visible at the anal opening
- Burning
- Itching
What causes hemorrhoids?
- Straining while passing stools
- High blood pressure
- Anal sex
- Poor circulation
- Genetics
- Aging
- Chronic diarrhea or constipation
- Obesity
- Colon or rectal surgery
How can I tell if I have hemorrhoids?
Obviously any of the symptoms listed above can indicate a potential health problem, however these symptoms can also be indicative of other colorectal diseases such as colon cancer, this makes proper diagnosing important. It’s tempting to self diagnose and just start a hemroid treatment option at the first sign of problems, but a doctor’s visit is very important. Your doctor will most likely recommend a colonoscopy to get a better view of your condition and rule out these health concerns.
Is there anything I can do to prevent hemorrhoids?
While this is no hemorrhoid cure, eating more fiber is the absolute best thing you can do to prevent and treat them. Fiber helps to reduce straining while passing stools which is the leading cause of hemorrhoids, plus it works to soften stools which decreases irritation to already existing hemorrhoids.
What does it mean when a hemroid experiences “prolapse”?
Prolapse is when an internal hemorrhoid becomes so irritated and swollen that it can then fall out of the anal canal.

Tennis is an excellent recreational and career sport that is played all over the world by so many people but just like any other sport, it comes with its own injuries. The most common injury of the elbow, known as lateral epicondylitis, is also called tennis elbow, not because it affects tennis players alone but because the tennis players are the most susceptible. Generally, anyone who uses their arm in repetitive motion while gripping an object can suffer from this condition that occurs when there are tiny micro-tears on the tendons that connect the muscles on the elbow to the arm bone.
How do you know that you have tennis elbow?
The initial symptoms of tennis elbow are often overlooked because they may pass unnoticed. These include tenderness on the elbow, tingly sensation, numbness in the fingers and the wrist, coordination problems in the functionalities of the fingers and slight pain when the arm is stretched or folded. At this point, the injury will be at its mild stages and must be rested to avoid further injury but if this does not happen, there will be bigger tears on the tendons that will become more painful, inflamed and swollen. In some instances, the swelling will extend as far as the shoulder and the wrist and fingers.
The first tennis elbow treatment is stopping stressful use of the injured arm in any way, especially in activities that will further sever the injured tendons. Next, apply a pack of ice or a pack of frozen peas on the injured area and keep the arm in an elevated position. The pack of ice and frozen peas are supposed to keep the inflammation and pain at bay and they do a great job for that matter. Seeing a doctor is a good idea because you may never really know how severely damaged the tendons are unless you have the injury diagnosed and proper advice given from a professional perspective.
Treatment of tennis elbow is actually allowing it to rest although in severe cases surgical reconstruction may be necessary. As the tendons heal, the patient should undergo tennis elbow exercise routines that start with compression and massage and later to stretching exercises and weight and strength exercises when the arm is almost or completely healed. The length of time that the injured tendons take to heal completely largely depends on how soon the treatment was sought and the severity of the injury.

Did you know that petite and skinny women are at a high risk of osteoporosis? It’s true! Not to gloat, but I like to think that being chubby is finally going to start paying dividends. As almost everyone over the age of 35 can tell you, it gets harder to lose weight as you get older. But not only does it get harder to lose weight, it’s also harder to keep what you’ve got. Gone are the days when you can eat whatever you want and not gain a pound. Of course I’ve never been one of the people who could always eat whatever I want, so I’m not crying too much for those people. I’ve always been on the chubby side. The last time I was stick thin was when I was 7 years old, but virtually ever since then I’ve been about 25 pounds over weight. I can’t complain too much, I’m healthy and pretty active, plus I have a great group of friends who are active. I’ve walked four marathons over the last four years, done the Rosarita/Ensenada bike ride, hiked Mt. Whitney, and spent 4 days kayaking on the Green River, all with my chubby thighs and my extra 25 pounds.
My problem now is menopause. I’m still on the young side, I’m only 43, but soon I’m going to be entering into perimenopause. I’m worried that menopause will mean an extra 10 to 15 pounds. Well, I’m pretty OK with my chubby self, but I don’t want to slip into morbid obesity or have my mobility impared as I start to get older. I know that menopause is no excuse for weigh gain, but I also know that a little extra weight around the mid section is fairly common. The sad reality is that not only do we not have the energy we had when we were younger, but our metabolism starts to work against us a little.
Well, there is some good news about menopause and being a little chubby, it cuts the risk of osteoporosis and therefore reduces the risk of serious hip fractures latter in life. Maybe this is Mother Nature’s way of evening the playing field and showing the chubby girls a little love. Signs of Menopause Guide has articles and information about perimenopause symptoms, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, and natural treatment options.
