Have you ever dreamed of seeing and visiting a castle? Children often have loads of bedtime stories that are set in castles. Charming princes and lovely princesses, kings and queens, mighty and courageous warriors – these are the most common characters that are present in children’s stories that live and move inside castles. A castle also serves as a fortress more popular during the Middle Ages. The opportunity to see and visit a castle is possible not only in children’s stories or in your dreams. You can have this experience when you go for a vacation or holiday trip to Alicante, a wonderful city in Spain.

The city prides itself for being the home of the great Santa Barbara Castle, which is situated on Mount Benacantil overlooking Alicante city. The Moors originally built it in the 10th century and it completely occupies the top of the Benacantil Mountain. It has become one of the biggest medieval forts in Europe as well. The name of the castle originated from the time when King Alfonse the Wise took over the city in December 4, 1248, which happens to be Saint Barbara’s Day. Its ideal location attracted human settlers and the like to develop and expand the castle, which left it with three evidently distinguishable areas which date back to different eras. The three areas include the highest part, which holds the oldest remains dating back to 11th to 13th centuries; the intermediate part, which contains structures built in the 16th century; and the third part, which was built in the 18th century. And if you are fond of taking photographs, you will surely love this place as it provides you with a one of a kind venue for your picture taking moments. You can capture a nice view in almost every area of the castle.

So if you are ready for a castle trip, set your feet towards the city of Alicante in Spain and visit the historic and magnificent Castle of Santa Barbara. Alicante airport is close by, so you can be here in no time at all.

When it comes to property hotspots in Cyprus, you can’t do much better then Peyia, which is located just 12 km north of Paphos. The main attraction of this town, which has a population of just over 2000, is its situation up on the hillside where it offers beautiful views over Coral Bay and, beyond Coral Bay, on to Paphos. British property buyers, especially, have been drawn to this town and over the last few years there has been a big increase in new properties being built.

As well as its beautiful location. It is a fully self-sufficient town with several shops, bars and restaurants, banks and other amenities. They are also justly proud of their local football team Peyia FC, which plays in the Cypriot first division. Part of its charm can also be seen in its heritage, with two old crumbling Christian basilicas, just on the borders the village, and further Roman tombs hewn into the cliffs above the ocean.

Here is some Cyprus information to make the process pretty straightforward. The first thing you need to do as a foreigner is to register at your local immigration office in order to obtain an Alien Registration Certificate. The forms for this is available from local district offices. Once you have this take it along to your local identity card office with the following documents. You will need your passport, birth certificate and your temporary residents permit. It is advisable to take along photocopies of these documents as well and if possible some passport photos. The ID card itself costs around seven euros so make sure you take your wallet or cheque book.
