Changing from shaving cream to a brush
Men who change from shaving cream to a shaving brush and soap or even tube or tub shaving cream are also changing from disposable razors to classic double edge razors. While much less expensive than shaving cartridges or disposable razors, these blades are of a much higher quality.
Many men who make this switch to a good double edge razor find that use of the shaving brush allows them to get a very close shave. The higher quality blades help to prevent razor rash or bumps. This can make worlds of difference in persons that have sensitive skin. Used double edge razors can often be found in yard sales or on e-Bay. These are often thirty to fifty years old, but still in perfect shape. New double edge razors can also be purchased today.
For the perfect wet shave, some insist on the straight razor only. These razors must be sharpened using a leather strop before each shave. Shaving with a straight razor requires a commitment to shaving.
