Beach Volleyball Equipment

Getting the right gear for beach volleyball is very important.  There is no more important piece of beach volleyball equipment than the ball.  You don’t want to buy the wrong ball because that can ruin your game really fast.  You need to make sure you always get the avp official game ball.  Don’t buy the replica ball that looks just like the real ball but is only a fraction of the price.  It feels like it is made of hard plastic covered with a centimeter of squishy material.  You want the ball made of leather that will bounce the right way and not hurt when you pass it.  Some other things to have are boundry lines and a net if there is not one set up where you play.

Learn How to Play Beach Volleyball

Learning how to play beach volleyball can a lot of fun if you learn while playing with the right people.  Volleyball is different than other sports in the sense that you don’t want to learn playing basketball against the best because it just isn’t fun that way.  But with volleyball it isn’t fun if you aren’t good and you are playing with people around your same skill level.  You should be trying to play with the best players you can find.  This is the only way you will become really good yourself.  Most people play to the skill level of others around them.  This works both ways, so good players play worse against bad players while bad players play their best against really good players.  Save yourself a lot of time and play with the best if you want to become a good beach volleyball player.

Lets start with passing.  Always keep your arms straight and make sure they are straight before they come together.  Don’t ever pass off of the thumbs, make sure it hits you right above the wrists.

When setting the ball move the feet first so that you are directly under the ball and your sets will come out with much more precision.
