Diamonds can be very expensive, the last thing you want is to make the purchase only to find out that it looks different on your hand or around your neck than you imagined.

The second consideration is the price, since the price will vary by cut you may be able to get a much larger diamond in a less popular cut. So don’t start shopping with a set size in mind, try and make the most of your budget.
